Namco of Japan has announced that it will be bringing gaming to the disabled, and has begun development work on range of peripherals with physically challenged gamers in mind.
The main focus of the team is on creating an ‘easy use’ pad for disabled games players. Early prototypes are centering on a large split pad, with direction controls on one side and button inputs on the other.
Working closely with Japan’s Ministry of Health, Namco is planning to release a range of peripherals for those who find normal pads a challenge in Summer 2002.
