Microsoft Responds to FIFA Xbox Live User Hacks
Microsoft has issued a response to claims that Xbox Live users have had their accounts hacked in a PlayStation Network attack like catastrophe disaster.

“We do not have any evidence the Xbox LIVE service has been compromised," begins the statement sent to Ars Technica.

"We take the security of our service seriously and work on an ongoing basis to improve it against evolving threats. However, a limited number of members have contacted us regarding unauthorized access to their accounts by outside individuals. We are working with our impacted members directly to resolve any unauthorized changes to their accounts. As always, we highly recommend our members follow the Xbox LIVE Account Security guidance provided at www.xbox.com/security to protect your account.”

It ends. In short, no horror, disaster catastrophe at all.

So is "unauthorized access" not a compromise, or what?

It could be someone guessing your password, in which case the security hasn't been compromised.

My account was "hacked" on monday, called microsoft today (had to work past few nights) They are going to reimburse me for the points stolen. Luckily my credit card on the account is already expired so they weren't able to charge more to my account.

THE downside is that the "investigation" period can take up to 25 days during which I won't be able to use my account.

THIS SUCKS!
