Xbox Live New Dashboard Preview is Public - Party Chat Remains
Microsoft's Larry Hyrb - Major Nelson to everybody but his mum - has revealed the details for the Xbox LIVE Public Preview Program. He's keen to point out that 'party chat will function'.

Basically this gives Xbox Live user the chance to look over the new dashboard that was revealed at E3.

The major states that "Once this program is kicked off, an update will be pushed to your console that will contain select dashboard features, including:

• New design for integrated Kinect and controller navigation
• New Beacons to play online with friends
• Deeper Facebook integration
• New Cloud Storage for Game Saves and Xbox LIVE Profile

Other features and entertainment partner apps may come into view during the program period."

He also makes a point of stating that, "A console in the program is expected to remain fully compatible with standard retail consoles not in the program. (e.g. party chat will function)."

a) To have a pop at PS3.
b) To reassure people.
c) Because they can
d) Because they will soon be removing it!

Choose one and one only :)

Cheers

All wrong Tim Smith^
Rashers10 - It is due to in the past each Dashboard beta has resulted in a highly monitor closed curtain policy (NDA - None Disclosure Agreement)
Even worse before the XGD3 Disc format Halo Beta the dashboard update we use today was being implemented with the whole Kinect/Party Chat codec system. This resulted in all (including me) being unable to even hear people on nearly all games and pretty much locked off from friends. It lasted a few months aswell causing alot of people to cry there way off the beta.
This time they want to show they are not making the same mistakes :P
