Angry Birds is invariably the poster child for the iOS gold rush. And in a speech at the TechCrunch Disrupt Conference yesterday, Rovio's General Manager Andrew Stalbow revealed that with over 350 million downloads of the game, there's no sign of the gravy train stalling.

With mobile gamers playing Angry Birds for 300 million minutes a day worldwide and Rovio selling millions or toys and shirts a month, the Finnish developer has grown into something of a powerhouse. Stalbow also hinted at potential follow ups to the recent tie-in with the animated movie Rio.

Angry Birds is also on Google+ and will also be launched on Facebook "in the near future" – probably at the f8 Conference that takes place next week. However, despite the huge amount of people out there playing their game, Rovio are seeking ever more funding to plough into the company.

The question that springs to mind is why a company that is apparently pulling in millions in revenue feels the need to go cap in hand to investors? Are they biting off more than they can chew? And are they in danger of becoming a one-trick pony? For now they really don't seem to care as long as the downloads keep rolling in and there appears to be no sign of that stopping.
