Grasshopper Manufacture announced a brand new title at Gamescom this week - a 2D action platformer inspired by Japanese theatre drama, called Black Knight Sword.
The Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network game is being produced by European outfit Digital Reality, which has helped influence the design of the game, according to a spokesperson speaking with VG247.
"Black Knight Sword is a blend of old meets new, classic meets fresh. This is a side-scrolling action title inspired by Japanese theatre drama. It’s also a modern interpretation of a picture book-type game, with old school action gameplay." The game has a distinct Castlevania-style flavour that would sit very well with retro gamers, we reckon.
No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned studio Grasshopper Manufacture is also developing Lollipop Chainsaw, Sine Mora and Codename D. Suda 51 has a lot on his plate at the moment, it seems.
