Sony Officially Announced PlayStation 3 Price Cut
Sony officially announced that the PlayStation 3 would be seeing a price cut worldwide, effective immediately. The 160GB model has been reduced to €249, while the 320GB model will sell for €299.

Online retailer Amazon already beat Sony to it though. Before its Gamescom press conference, the 160GB model had been reduced to £190 (from £250) and the 320GB model sank to £215 (from £290).

Planning on getting a PlayStation 3 at last, after years of holding back? Now may well be your best chance.

Wouldn't it be better to wait for the updated models that have BC reinstalled as reported a few weeks ago or am I confused?

Still too pricey. If they keep increasing HDD capacity, and phasing out the smaller drives, how can they ever get close to £100?
Dumping the 20GB one was their first mistake.
