Gearbox Confirms Borderlands 2 is 'In Development'
So, now we've all got the execrable Duke Nukem Forever out of ours minds we can perhaps forgive 2k and Gearbox and say "Huzza! Borderlands 2 is coming!"

Or maybe we want to look sternly and reserve judgement as the two companies announce:

"the sequel to the extravasplosive breakout hit, Borderlands, is currently in development at world-renowned developer Gearbox Software."

As we're not in marketing, we're not sure what a 'breakout hit' actually is. 2k explains that, "Combining invention and evolution, Borderlands 2 features all new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons and equipment, which come together in an ambitiously crafted story. Players will reveal secrets, and escalate mysteries of the Borderlands universe as they adventure across the unexplored new areas of Pandora."

The game will be on show at Gamescom 2011 from August 17 – August 21, and at PAX Prime (Booth #3417) from August 26 – August 28.

Lets hope the ending is better than the original was!

I know the ending sucked, but I kinda liked it, it made a change for once.

Change isn't always good! The last level was harder than the actual end boss (if you even call it that), it was as though the script writer had gone on strike or they'd had enough of developing the game and just gave up.

The story told you about this huge prize (The Vault) waiting for you but you never got to see it!

I really enjoyed the game and was looking forward to lots of loot and it left me feeling like I wasted my time.

I thought that was kinda the point to the ending, All these people talking about it and all the goodies in there them BAM! 'sorry' it's shut again for another 100(?) years. However you could be right and the writers/devs just got lazy.

Perhaps we'll never know, if we're lucky they might pick the second one up exactly where the first left off.

What Cfan said is similar to how I see it.. think of "Big Brother" only everyone on the land is a "potential contestant" but no one can ever "win" therefore never ending the legend that is the Vault as the ending posed more questions than answers as to where the satellite was broadcasting to.. or whom...?

If I had 2 gripe's it would be..
1) to add some proper dialogue to the characters you do jobs for instead of "go there do this" maybe a little back-story about the towns perhaps?
2)give the guns some personality! ...in other words... no more "all assault rifles and shotguns look more less the same despite the big quantities of them"

Either way I am definitely looking forward to Borderlands 2 as I loved the first one.If there is one thing I have learned about online gamers... "Good loot brings people together!!"
