Activison/Blizzard is to host a two-day event in Los Angeles starting on September 2nd called 'Call of Duty XP'. It will include a first look for gamers at Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer.

According to the head of Activision Publishing, Eric Hirshberg, speaking to Joystiq, "Call of Duty XP is going to be the ultimate fan experience for Call of Duty fans. A two day, immersive live event for fans of Call of Duty.

"We are constructing a full-scale replica of one of our multiplayer maps as a paintball stadium for fans. We're reconstructing the legendary level from Modern Warfare 2, The Pit, which fans can actually run. You'll be able to eat at Burger Town from Modern Warfare 2."

He also made it clear that revenues from the more than 6,000 that go on sale on July 19 for $150 each will, "benefit the Call of Duty Endowment, the non-profit organization that Activision founded to help place veterans returning home into jobs."

they did a replica of the pit on gadget show and they had an SAS guy run the course against jason on the game. it looked actually great fun. I think they did it live fire as well. that would make the COD XP more exciting!!
