E3 2011: PS Vita to Cost From $249
Kaz Hirai has announced that PlayStation Vita will retail for $249 for the WiFi only version, and $299 for the WiFi + 3G version.

The news stunned the audience, who was expecting a high entry price for the machine given the amount of technology bundled into the hardware. The price in Europe matches that of the US Dollar - €249 for WiFi only and €299 for WiFi and 3G.

Kaz revealed that the PS Vita will launch this holiday period.

What usually happens is tht the Euro price is converted to pounds and upped slightly. Current rates put 249 EUR at 222 GBP, I'd expect £230 as the Vita launch price, but wouldn't be surprised by £250.

what would be nice is for the supermarkets to forsake their profit in the name of besting each other and getting a launch day wifi version for £200.00, also 3G isnt for me, my rooted android phone offers WIFI access point with tethered access to its HSPDA connection ill be happy doing that if im very rarely out of some sort of public Wifi spot.

Great price! Was expecting much higher.
The 3DS is priced the same and started at £230, but dropped to as low as £180. I think this will probably be a little higher, and stay higher. They must be making a serious loss on that hardware.
