Sony has just lifted the lid on its galactic third person shooter (with added building blocks), Starhawk. You should be excited, particularly if you're a fan of the multiplayer-only Warhawk that kick-started interest in the PlayStation Network in 2007.
Set in a region of space called the Frontier, the game puts a futuristic twist on the old Wild West, where prospective space miners compete in a 'gold rush' for the valuable-but-dangerous Rift energy. As well as the usual ground-vehicle-air combat, players can spend collected Rift energy to build additional structures to create a strategic advantage in play.
Studio Lightbox and Sony Santa Monica have released a developer diary detailing the game, watch it below. Starhawk's a PS3 exclusive and will be arriving at some point in 2012.
