Nintendo Calls The Sun Liars in Nauseating 3DS Clash
The Sun newspaper apparently has it in for Nintendo's 3DS. It is continuing its campaign against the device, this time with claims that the handheld is " now the most returned games console ever as users struggle with its display."

Nintendo's outgoing PR man in the UK, Rob Saunders, has been quick to correct the tabloid organ. He tweeted, "I can officially state Nintendo 3DS is NOT our most returned games console ever. Any number of retailers will back that up."

The Sun vs Nintendo war is all the more strange given that Sky Sport (another News International outlet) coverage will feature on the device. Also, Sky TV featured heavily on Sky TV.

Got a friend who has one, gives him a headache, he is prone to migraines though, and they are usually brought on by low lighting or very bright lighting, he suspects the 3D also causes this, he hasnt returned it though, he plays in 3D until he feels uncomfortable and then either turns it off or turns the 3D off.

What is pissing me off is, I want to get the kids these but, the suns coverage is exploiting what could actually be a problem for some people even if its a small amount and as such trying to get some genuine information as too how conclusive and widespread this problem actually is, seems impossible, if its a genuine problem then I want to know, I don't want tabloid bullshit clouding or exaggerating the facts.

Sadly we have the industry saying its not a problem at all, and the media saying it is a problem for everyone, It wouldnt be the first time Nintendo released a headache inducing 3D system, and it certainly isnt the first time the papers have written bullshit about gaming. arrrghh im getting a headache.

Hari - We have 3 of these in our house.

I find certain games (Pilotwings and Rayman) to be a little hard on the eyes at the full 3D setting. I think it's something to do with the range of 3D depth these games use - my eyes don't like them. Put them down to about 30% and I'm absolutely fine.

My wife often feels unwell watching other people playing games with 3D graphics but on 2D screens where the camera spins around a lot. Sometimes this is also the case when she is playing herself. She's had no problems with the 3D of the 3DS at all. She always plays with it on, possibly turned down a bit in some games.

My son is approaching 5, so it's illegal for him to play with the 3D on. (I jest, but it's advised he doesn't do it). He mostly plays with it turned off, but I suspect it's not down to uncomfortable feelings, but more about him not being able to hit the sweet spot and ending up seeing a double image.

Hope this is of some help to you.
