Chris Zimmerman, Development Director for inFamous 2 studio, Sucker Punch, has handed out a hat-tip to Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet for enocouraging his firm to include user created content and social features in the inFamous sequel."We were encouraged by the wild success of
LittleBigPlanet," he said. So, technically it wasn't so much
LittleBigPlanet itself then.
Anyway, he continued to tell
IGN, "Even though it's a different genre and a completely different kind of game, it showed there was this thirst that people had for having this creation/sharing experience. We thought the same desires would be present for
Infamous players, too."
He then noted that, "I don't think it's right for all games, but it's what people are used to these days."
There's no getting away from it... "Social gaming" is an excellent way to make your game sticky.
