Keen-eyed PlayStation Network users discovered an entry for the original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City game on the service's online store this weekend, suggesting that PS2 titles might soon become available for PS3 and PSP users. The Rockstar classic was listed as a free downloadable underneath the PSP prequel,
Vice City Stories. Various assets were missing from the entry, including summaries and thumbnail images. Successfully downloading the file won't lead you to PS2 heaven either - according to TheSixthAxis, when "the game boots it boots as 'stories'" - whether that means
Vice City Stories or not is uncertain.
Obviously, the title was not supposed to be there and was intended as a placeholder - the entry has been removed as of this morning. Could Sony be finally working to allow for PS2 compatibility?
