Sir Howard Stringer, the big boss (chairman, to be precise) of Sony has confirmed that he counted himself out of the running to be the new head of the BBC.Stringer dismissed
speculation that he was on the shortlist to become the next chairman of the BBC Trust, half-jokingly telling reporters at CES "I told them to take my name off the list. And it’s still on the list. I don’t know why."
Reinforcing his commitment to working at Sony, he went on, "I’m still very excited about what we’re doing here. For me, this is a culmination of a dream that started five years ago. The integration of electronics and content is something I've believed in for a long time. I feel this is a moment when I can enjoy being right. I’m feeling pretty good about it."
