Chances of Kaz Hirai as Sony CEO Increase
The likelihood of PlayStation executive Kaz Hirai taking the CEO position at Sony Corporation increased this morning amidst reports that current chief Howard Stringer has been approached to become the next BBC Trust chairman.

According to the Telegraph newspaper, Stringer has been asked to succeed Michael Lyons, but the Sony CEO has no plans to move from Sony at this time. That's likely because, as we previously reported, he intends to see the electronics company through its restructuring process before stepping down.

Sony is on the hunt for a new president to initially help Stringer with his workload and prepare to lead the company into its next phase of growth, according to people close to the situation. Kaz Hirai is the hot candidate for the job.
