Square Enix Reduces Profit Forecast 92%
Square Enix, of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest fame, has cut its profit forecast for this financial year by almost 92%, it can be revealed.

The company has reduced the amount of profit it expects to generate by April next year to ¥1 billion (around £7,700,000), seeing a 91.7% cut on its original target due to poor software sales, negative feedback on one of its key titles and the holding back of another key title.

No particular titles were specified. However, the developer has mentioned that it will be restructuring the development team who worked on MMORPG title Final Fantasy XIV and will continue to extend the game's free period of online play until it feels the game's fans are satisfied.

We previously reported on the delay of Deus Ex: Human Revolution here which will see a release sometime after April 2011, pushing it into the next financial year together with the PS3 version of FFXIV.

Square Enix's share price saw a loss of 1.35% yesterday and closed on the stock market at ¥1599 (about £12).

Sad to hear that Square Enix is experiencing a tough financial year? And do you think they will recover from this difficult period? Any thoughts, feel free to post them down below.
