Tony Hawk: Shred has become another casualty of Activision's cramped Autumn release schedule - the skateboard peripheral game has sold a paltry 3,000 units in the US in its first six days of sale. The Robomodo development studio that worked on
Shred and its predecessor,
Ride, was axed by the publisher early last month. It seems there just wasn't enough faith in the series to see it continue. Additionally, the game was released with nary a whimper - it was easy to forget it existed at all.
It's not the first game to suffer from Activision's
Call of Duty: Black Ops-heavy campaign. Eurocom's
GoldenEye 007 Wii remake
failed to crack the UK All-Format Top 10 despite a huge amount of hype, and
007 Blood Stone fared even worse when released in the same week - a performance that developer
Bizarre Creations is now paying for.
