Activision Moots Sale of Bizarre Creations
Activision Blizzard has released a statement to various press outlets regarding the rumoured closure of Liverpool-based Bizarre Creations - the studio behind the hugely successful Project Gotham Racing, and the less well-received Blur.

The statement reads:

"Over the past three years since our purchase of Bizarre Creations, the fundamentals of the racing genre have changed significantly. Although we made a substantial investment in creating a new IP, Blur, it did not find a commercial audience.

"Bizarre is a very talented team of developers, however, because of the broader economic factors impacting the market, we are exploring our options regarding the future of the studio, including a potential sale of the business."

Also rumoured today by PC Gamer is the closure of Guitar Hero Wii developer Budcat Creations.

Hey. Just thought id remind everyone that this is the company that made the Geometry Wars franchise. I hope they survive just because of that. Common Bizarre, stop wasting your time on generic racing games, youll never make anything as good as NFS:HP anyway....
