 EA's Visceral Becomes More Visceral
The developer of titles Dead Space and Dante's Inferno, Visceral Games, is due to increase its output as EA has announced that it will become its dedicated developer of third-person action titles.

The developer's general manager, Nick Earl, spoke recently with games trade website Gamasutra regarding the changes in efforts to increase the number of titles Visceral Games will be working on for EA. He explains that the developer will now share resources with other areas of the company such as EA Los Angeles, EA Shanghai and EA Montreal. These teams will also work collaboratively on Visceral Games' future projects and as Earl himself describes it:

"We're not outsourcing or insourcing -- we really look at it as collaborative development, where everyone is on equal playing ground."

Earl also explains that the developer has employed this approach to game development for upcoming title Dead Space 2, albeit in an unofficial manner, to see if the method of working was viable for business operations. He quipped that "We've been doing this now for three and a half years in a quiet way, but we have been trying to perfect the recipe."

Excited to hear that Visceral Games will be working on more titles than ever before? Let us know how you feel in the comments below.
