Electronic Arts' European boss Jens Uwe Intat has spoken a little more about the publisher's growing relationship with Sony, saying that he believes the PlayStation maker could catch up to the Microsoft and its Xbox 360 in the West."We could certainly see Sony come back – in the UK it’s still a head-to-head competition between PlayStation and Xbox, but on the continent Sony is traditionally stronger than Microsoft," Intat told
MCV in a recent interview. He suggested that this renewed console competition has allowed EA to support the PlayStation 3 more heavily.
Of course, the centre of the battle of the HD platforms this year is in PlayStation Move and Kinect. Intat doesn't go so far as to declare a "winner" of the motion-controller war, but does waft the phrase, "It’s less of a question of which one is going to win and more a question of which will achieve critical mass."
"It doesn’t have to be a winner as long as the installed base will be interesting enough that we can actually develop games and recoup our costs," added the exec.
EA, keeping opinions painfully middle-road since insert-year-here.
