Grief! Grief!
The US Playstation blog has been updated with further details of the release of the latest PS3 system software update, version 3.50.

As previously reported, v3.50, will include support for playback of 3D Blu-ray. The additional elements include:

Grief Reporting Function: Users can send claim reports directly from the XMB for any inappropriate messages they receive from other PlayStation Network users. This feature is accessible from the option menu of the messages list in the FRIENDS category. The main attraction is the ability to watch 3D films via the PS3. Anyone want to borrow a pair of 3D glasses? We've got plenty.

Facebook Integration: Developers will be able to create PS3 games that have more interaction with Facebook. Once compatible PS3 titles are available, PS3 users can choose to access public information on Facebook – including user name, profile, uploaded photos and friends list – to enhance their gameplay experience.

I'd like to borrow a 3D TV, please ;)

I'm curious (i.e. skeptical :P) as to how greater Facebook integration will "enhance" gameplay...

@realvictory I can imagine posting headshots to Facebook or updating statuses based on levels progressed.

Another pointless update. I use none of these new features and yet I still have to wait for PSN. I am really getting tired of PSN's updates.

Well, while it sounds like a good idea in one sense, I personally don't really want my feed full of "Bob has just killed Dave"... I'd prefer important info on there, based on real life. What's wrong with using PSN for game-related stuff? If Facebook friends don't have a PS3, which of them is likely to care?

In fact, I despise the way Facebook spams your feed with crap until you explicitly block items, and also freely shows all your info until you explicitly stop it. I want to be able to create individual feed items and create filters for feed items, to avoid huge amounts of spam.
