There's Gary, behind Tim Roth. Hi Gary!

English actor Gary Oldman (Meantime, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) and Ed Harris (The Abyss, Coma) are to give their vocal vastnesses to Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Everybody is amazingly excited.

Gaz Oldman, plays Viktor Reznov as he did in Call of Duty: World at War. Ed Harris takes the role of CIA operative Jason Hudson.

Also onboard is David S Goyer. We're told that his "writing credits include the blockbusters Batman: Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Blade and the upcoming Superman: Man of Steel."

And where would we be without an absolutely over-blown and cringe-inducing quote? Nowhere, that's where. Over to you, Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch:

"Oldman, Harris and Goyer are considered some of Hollywood’s finest talents and they perfectly complement Call of Duty: Black Ops’ ambitious and immersive single player experience.

"Their contributions have helped us to push the boundaries of our story telling and character development far beyond anything we have ever attempted before in the franchise."

So, if the single-player is any good, you can thank Gaz.

I can't help but think this is a waste. Do we need it? I don't think so. Will we pay for it? You betcha!
I'm doubting the creds of the actors but if films have taught us anything it's that stars don't make films great. There are plenty of movies with no-name actors that are awesome and the same goes for the games.
If movies can be awesome without expensive acting talent then games can get by too. No matter how high-brow we pretend to be with games at the end of the day the acting in a game like COD is a minor issue, for GTA or a more 'acting led' game it's different but COD? I'd rather a cheaper package (cheaper DLC) and less A-listers.
Look at COD4, Craig Fairbrass (I think his name was) was perfect in MW1&2 and I bet he was a snip compared to Garry Oldman.
