2K Games announced on Friday that gaming's longest-running vapourware gag, Duke Nukem Forever, has been picked up by Gearbox Software - and that development on the game is actually complete, ready for a 2011 release on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
The news came following a month of rumours suggesting that the Borderlands developer would finish what 3D Realms started.
Duke Nukem Forever has been in limbo for around 12 years, with the original studio stopping and starting to introduce new engine tech. The fact that the game is so close to actually being released is nothing short of mind-blowing for Duke fans.
