Xbox Live Gold Prices to Rise
Microsoft has announced that the price of Xbox Live Gold is set to increase. Gamers in the UK will be expected to pay 100 pennies more per monthly subscription (from £4.99 to £5.99), with no announcement yet on any changes to annual payments.

The price change will be in effect from the 1st November. Other countries affected include the US, Mexico and Canada. In the US, annual subscriptions will rise from $49.99 to $59.99, while monthly charges will go from $7.99 to $9.99.

Microsoft's Major Nelson did the usual PR bit and said that the Xbox Live service has "continually added more content and entertainment experiences for our members, while keeping the price the same. We're confident that when the new pricing takes effect, an Xbox LIVE Gold membership will continue to offer the best value in the industry."

"best value for money in the industry"... well, when you compare it to Sony's FREE. I see what he means. Again microsoft, FAIL... you forget that we pay for the content you upload... it certainly isnt free or good value for money. ggrrrrr
