Batman Dev: Sony Move more Hardcore than Kinect
The head of Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City developer Rocksteady Studios, Sefton Hill, has offered his thoughts on emerging technologies in the games industry.

Offering his thoughts on 3D gaming, Hill says that "I think 3D is cool - I don’t think we’re announcing or saying anything about it at the moment - but I think that it’s interesting for games."

He was also quizzed about Sony's Move and Microsoft's Kinect devices, both due in the next few months:

"My own personal opinion is that I think they’re both interesting. I think Move might be a bit more applicable for hardcore gamers from what I’ve seen mainly because I can play it lazing on my sofa, my number one requirement. I think Kinect seems interesting. I’d like to see more games for it definitely. They haven’t really shown too much so I’d like to see what I’m actually going to be able to play with it apart from Dance Central."

It seems that Hill recognises and pays respect to each of the technologies but wants more to be shown first before he and his studio will make any solid commitment to any of the devices in the near future. Would you like to see any of these technologies integrated into the upcoming Batman: Arkham City game? Express your views in the comments below.

Wow. Sefton "Super Non-commital" Hill.

Of the two, I think Move would be better suited to the brawling aspect of Asylum - can't see how you could effectively dodge or bounce from one opponent to another using gestures alone. That said, you could do all that right now with Wii - making it, what? Mad World? In colour (a Quinn Martin production!)
