In a less than confident release date press handout, Microsoft's has announced that its Kinect controller will launch in Europe on 10th November.Strangely, slipped into the same press release from Microsoft is the fact that "Windows Phone 7 will also launch this Christmas, with Microsoft announcing a new line up of LIVE enabled titles coming to the PC."
Microsoft will be showing off more than 15 "exclusive Kinect titles". We'll assume that this won't include
Child of Eden.
Chris Lewis, Vice President, Interactive Entertainment Business, Microsoft Europe even manages to take a tip from the iPad marketing department by using the term 'magic of Kinect' before launching into the following statement, "With Kinect launching on November 10, it’s set to not only transform our business but also change how we use entertainment."
He then starts to sound like he's had just a little too much coffee, "With Xbox LIVE on Windows Phone 7 we are bringing the quality, consistency and community of the Xbox experience to gamers on the go. With
Age of Empires Online,
Fable III and new games still in development , we’re also bringing social, connected gaming experiences to all new audiences on the PC.
So, November 10th then.
