Activision Blizzard and the Game Writing Contest
Activision Blizzard has launched its "Write a story based on Warcraft, StarCraft, or Diablo" competition for 2010.

You use English to create a a 2,500- to 7,500-word short story set in any of the above-named games by August 23, 2010, Blizzard people assess your work, after you've sent it to them of course. If you win, you get to go to Blizzard HQ in southern California. Once there, "you'll meet and eat with the Blizzard writing staff. You'll also receive your choice of a Diablo III "Overthrown" barbarian diorama or a Frostmourne sword."

You don't win, but are one of seven runners-up? You'll "receive a prize package of the Diablo Archive, the Warcraft Archive, the StarCraft Archive, and the Warcraft: War of the Ancients Archive, all signed by Chris Metzen, the cover artists, and Blizzard's writing staff.

As a side bet, if you include a character called SPOnG, and you win or come in the top seven, we'll send you something rather grand that we've not thought of yet.

All the details are here.
