Crytek: Console Gamers Don't Respect Development
Those Crytek guys, they've certainly been vocal over the past week or so. Now it's the turn of Cevat Yerli, the company's CEO, and he took the opportunity to declare that console gamers "don't respect development."

With Crytek being a PC developer through and through, Crysis 2 is to be the first time the studio dips its toe into the multi-platform console market. So naturally, there are going to be some differences in how each audience reacts to a game, right?

"I simplified it for our guys by saying there is one difference between the PC gamer and console gamer," Yerli explained to OXM at a New York press event. "I said the single most important difference is a PC gamer forgives you for about a minute. A console gamer gives you two seconds. It sucks or it fails and you're either the top or a flop.

"They don't respect any value you put into your development, either it works or it doesn't work."

Charming. Yerli adds that this pressure from console gamers actually pushed Crytek to make a better game in Crysis 2, so we guess it's not all bad news. What do you think of his comments? Speak out in the comments area below.

This guy should go back to making Döner's on some Frankfurt corner shop. His brothers aren't so bad but this guy thinks he's on top of the world.

While technically nice to look at, Crysis was one of the most repetitive, boring, and frustrating games I've played in awhile. COD4 at the time was 10x better than Crysis ever was or will be.
