Not content with calling out the storyline of Modern Warfare 2 and Halo, Crysis 2's lead writer Richard Morgan has also taken a pop at certain PlayStation titles, declaring that the upcoming Crytek sequel "surpasses" Killzone 2.Speaking to
NowGamer, Morgan was keen to big up his studio's game in as many ways as possible. "As the lead writer of
Crysis 2, they have numerous times showed me
Crysis 2. This way i can visualise the scenes and scripts for the story events," he said. "I can tell you now... What I have seen of
Crysis 2 in Alpha Stages, Surpasses
Killzone 2."
Morgan did take a moment to tip his writing hat to some other games besides
Crysis 2 and...
Crysis 2 though. Uncharted 2 is a perfect example, he says, of welding "a really good narrative to a really cool shooting game."
BioShock is also praised before the man talks about
Crysis 2 again.
Then it was back to having a go at games that aren't
Crysis 2. Specifically,
Batman: Arkham Asylum. "You’re not going to have like in, say,
Arkham Asylum, ‘The Joker’,” he said, “and the stupid girl with the big tits. That’s ****ing bullshit, man … that’s comic book. What we’ll do is that we’ll create characters where you generally feel that there’s a weight and a gravitas, a depth to them. You can identify, you can actually see where they’re coming from."
We're glad Morgan understands the difference between a comic book game story and a sci-fi game story at least. More lovely discussion at
NowGamer.
