"I thought it was a little bit lying to present it that way because it will let (consumers) think that they will (see) something that they are not really close to getting." So says PS3 exclusive, Heavy Rain developer, David Cage with regard to Microsoft's Project Natal family demo. The demo, shown at E3 last year, the full-body controller being used to play a variety of games. Cage is particularly cutting about the skateboarding game shown. In this example, a young lad uses his real-world board to play through the game.
Destructoid reports Cage's response, made a year after the demo, '"When the kid comes in with the skateboard and the laser ray, scanning the skateboard, and then it's in the game," he says, rolling his eyes. He explains that the ability to take pictures and than map images into a game is possible, but not to the extent that the Natal promo video would like us to believe. "We are in the industry; we know what's feasible and what's not."'
Expect more too and fro'ing at this year's E3 in June.
