2K Games has confirmed that BioShock 2 will have DLC. The first details about what form that DLC will take have also crept into the world.

Asked whether DLC is planned for the game, the Senior Systems Designer from 2K Marin, Kent Hudson, told AustralianGamer, "Absolutely! We are working on pretty aggressive plans for DLC and that's actually something that is already under-way. That is something that is mostly being run out of the Marin studio because like I said the Australian studio is already ramping up on the next big thing."

Kotaku has put up details of the first DLC due - it's two new characters for the multiplayer mode. Those characters are Mademoiselle Blanche de Grace and Da Costa - an actress who went to Rapture seeking new audiences and a fisherman who wanted to see the ocean from a new point of view.

So far, they're only confirmed for Japan as a special offer aimed at getting players into the multiplayer mode. If we were to take a bet involving all our worldly possessions and first-born children, we'd guess that more DLC will be coming.

†At the time of publication, Kotaku seemed to be having technical issues with the story. It has since disappeared.
