Sony Trademarks 'Cloudsurf' Gaming
Following through on its announcement to provide PlayStation Network-esque services across its whole range of electronics, Sony Japan trademarked the name “Cloudsurf” on the 28th December.

The trademark refers to technology that will provide “game services” and “entertainment services” over the Internet.

The trademark covers a mass of devices to use with the service, including CD players, televisions, video cameras and “portable game machines.” Content will apparently include games, audio amd video, along with radio, TV and “electronic publications.”

Destructoid found the filing a couple of days ago, and refers to rumours of paid PSN charges from a recent marketing survey. But this sounds a follow-through on the company's promise of cloud-based electronic devices, all powered by the PlayStation Network backbone.

More details are bound to come out of Sony soon – the Consumer Electronics Show is just around the corner.
