Dead Space 2 - "Oh F*ck I'm About to Die"
Some details about Dead Space 2 - for which EA gave us the barest bones of an announcement earlier in the week - have made it out into the world.

The game has been previewed by Game Informer (and then reported on by Rely on Horror), with details about the environment, enemies and Isaac served up. The issue's cover also features some rather tasty Dead Space 2 art, pictured to the left.

The events take place three years after the goings-on of the first title. This time, however, it won't all be happening on a lonely mining ship. This time, it's happening in The Sprawl, a space station of sorts described as an "organic, haphazardly constructed, long-term place that's built around the remaining shards of one of Saturn's moon-The first planet-crack ever. Like any real city it is not all built by one person. Some stuff was built up, and some areas, corporate areas, government areas, and public areas."

There are a few new enemy types mentioned, but the one that really gave us the willies is described as "dead naked children with no lips".

The pacing and feel of the gameplay has apparently shifted, so while at times you'll still get that 'oh f*ck I'm just about to die' feeling, at others you'll feel empowered by the likes of the new javelin gun (which can pin the necromorphs to walls). We should also, it would seem, look out for more "epic" moments in the game.

Zero-gravity gameplay has also changed. While you'll still be able to run on walls and jump from railing to railing, if you take a longer jump you'll now be able to control your direction by firing off a shot.

Isaac looks set to become more of a character. This time he'll have dialogue and some actual opinions about stuff.

There was also a very brief mention of multiplayer by a member of the dev team that Rely on Horror hasn't clearly named - "All I can say is it's really fun, and you'll get to strategically dismember your friends."
