According to Gamespot, the US version of the PS3's PlayStation Eye-compatible EyePet has slipped its leash and won't being coming out in 2009.
According to Sony in Europe, speaking to SPOnG today, however, "We're all set for the 23rd". That's October the 23rd for the UK release of the title.
SCEA, however, had issued a statement earlier saying, "The North American territory has decided to take additional time to focus on the EyePet product and can confirm it will not be available this holiday... We will provide more details on an updated launch timeframe very soon."
This apparently stirred up some conjecture about the release of the PS3's motion controller (codenamed 'Sphere' apparently). All nonsense. That's still due for release in Spring 2010.
