European Home is behind the rest

Maybe we'll get a bandanna?
PlayStation Home community manager, TedTheDog, is a man sometimes to be envied, sometimes to be pitied, but today... to be honoured for his candour.

"Let's be honest, SCEE Home is behind the other regions in the number of Spaces we have to offer. That's not to say we dont (sic) have some really good clothing and furniture, we've actually got some excellent partners in the Shopping Centre. And we've also got Red Bull and Xi (the latter still has some way to run and some more surprises to bring you.) And Red Bull have another trick up their sleeve too...

"But overall, we're short on Spaces in general. In isolation we dont think this makes SCEE Home a bad place but we fully understand the regional comparisons and why they're made."

So, what are you going to do about it, Ted?

"In the spirit of openess being requested of us, and that we've committed to, we're going to say what we're going to do about this and in short, we're going to switch our priorities to the production of Spaces for the forseeable (sic) future. We will continue to support our partners in the Shopping Centre but our primary focus will be to improve our output and range of Spaces."

Yeah, but what about some detail, Ted?

"Our first task is to get up to date on some of the older content that we've been missing for a while now. For example, Uncharted and Warhawk and the update to the Resident Evil 5 space. Then bring you some of the more recent spaces like Guitar Hero and then finally ensure we're able to release new Spaces at the same time as the other regions whenever possible, and theres a few of those coming your way.

"The SCEE Home Producer is currently investigating 17 spaces in all but I dont believe all would be suitable and therefore not all would be published here. The timeline for this is probably about the next 2 to 4 months and there is likely to be a drop in output before it starts to really pick up and improve."

Oh... thanks. Read the full and frank outpouring here.

(Crikey, we got to the end without trying to shoehorn Safe European Home in... oh.)

I downloaded the painful HOME, along with the painful download of each area and overall its a painful experience.

You get thrown randomly into a lobby where you can end up with all non English speaking folk, coupled with the area being completely foreign i.e. Foreign billboards.

Also after buying the official PS3 headset I was still unable to talk to anyone again using the painful way of typing. No way going to buy that stupid keyboard add-on which is an epic fail.

There are soo many things wrong with the PS3 and its controller and interface.

@SuperSaiyan4 "There are soo many things wrong with the PS3 and its controller and interface. "

Hang on... you were just talking about Home. How can you slip that one in unqualified? The keyboard thing - hasn't the 360 got something equally as ridiculous? Anyways, I use a wireless USB keyboard. Laptop-size keys, fast typing.

I agree the loading times are dreadful given that the little symbol shows its coming off HDD and not over the web. Particularly painful is the load between the movie theatre lobby and the auditoriums (auditoria?) and then back again. Oh, and the fact that most of the movies don't stream(tho this is clearly possible as I had a streaming movie trailer one time)

As for the billboards, they all tend to rotate through the region's language.

i think home for europe needs more space look how much north america has got maybe just give everyone the same amount and get rid of the hub and home maintainance it is turning into a mission make a game space for europe where the boats sinking and if it the water touches your head you die and the last survivor wins like the titanic
