Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (good ol' SCEE) has released official confirmation of the multi-player aspects for
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. This follows this morning's tale of leaked info,
which you can re-read here.
In short:
- Five-Versus-Five Player Matches Competitively.
- Up To Three Player Cooperative Modes.
The modes include: Team Death Match and Capture the Treasure; now the latter is described as "a unique style of multiplayer competition that encourages team work to transport a treasure over dynamic terrain such as ledges and obstacles.
"Capture the Treasure brings truly vertical game play to traditional multiplayer modes. With maps based on environments from the single player campaign, players are taken from the night time streets of a war torn city to a Nepalese village and have the ability to create custom games allowing them to play any type of game on any map."
And we thought that was just like Capture the Flag from something like...
Warhawk.
Moving on to the relevant Corpro Quote:
"Adding a multiplayer aspect to the
UNCHARTED (must keep that upper-cased in case no one notices THE NAME OF THE GAME that's in the headline! Ed) franchise is a significant step in the re-playability of the game,” said Christophe Balestra, co president Naughty Dog.
So, adding it to the whole 'franchise', eh? We're looking into backwards compatibility for Drake's Fortune next then.
Of course, he might mean, "Adding multi-player to the video game"...
