The Mass Effect 2 trailer that we
showed in late February, has finally been followed up by the official EA/Bioware announcement.
The main thrust of the matter is that - even though the second episode of the game will be published by EA rather than Microsoft, as had been the case with the first - it's still not due to appear on the PlayStation 3.
The official line is: "
Mass Effect 2 is coming to PC and the Xbox 360 video game system in Early 2010."
In terms of teaser for content, "In this dark second chapter, Saren’s evil army of Geth soldiers has just been defeated, and humans, who are still struggling to make their mark on the galactic stage, are now faced with an even greater peril… "
In terms of unremitting cliché, Dr. Ray Muzyka, General Manager and CEO, BioWare and General Manager and Vice President, EA, goes with "
Mass Effect 2 is shaping up to be an unforgettable RPG-shooter experience, taking players on a non-stop roller-coaster ride filled with stunning plot twists and no-holds-barred action."
We hope his tongue is embedded in this cheek and not that his marketing person's programming hit some kind of loop.
Either way it appears that there's not PS3 for
Mass Effect 2.
