It has emerged from EA that
Mass Effect II may not be console-exclusive to the Xbox 360, though EA is remaining elusive on the subject.
In an third quarter earnings call the company's CEO, John Riccitiello, said that in quarter four of 2010 (January-March next year, if you don't speak financial), "BioWare will release
Mass Effect II on multiple platforms".
Multiple platforms may just mean Xbox 360 and PC, as with the last game, of course. Indeed, this seems to be supported by some input from respected games journo N'gai Croal via Twitter - "EA PR not confirming
Mass Effect 2 for PS3, only 360 and PC."
We all know, of course, that not confirming something is a long way from denying it in the language of PR.
Still, with Microsoft not being involved in the publishing of the second game (as it was in the
360 version of the first game, having gotten involved prior to
EA's purchase of BioWare) there's no apparent reason for keeping it off the PS3...
