Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has made its announcement about the upcoming firmware updates for the PSP and PS3, dishing up a release date in the process. October 15th - tomorrow - is when they'll be available to European users.
Other than that, there's not a vast amount to be added to the information SPOnG passed along yesterday, courtesy of SCEE's American counterparts. Except... there's one little nugget of interest that didn't make it into Sony Computer Entertainment America's announcement. SCEE tells us of the PS3 update, "Flash 9 content becomes supported on the Internet Browser." So there you go...
Other features included in v2.5 for the PS3 are support for Sony's Bluetooth headset and a screen capture tool. For more details, see
SPOnG's coverage from yesterday. The PSP update, v5.00, meanwhile, will include
direct access to the PlayStation Store from the handheld.
