Microsoft tells us that its managed to shift 6,000,000 Xbox 360s in Europe since the console first saw the light of retail in December of 2005 (
refresh your memories here).
Well, we assume it means since then, as the press release actually goes on about "A reduction in the estimated retail price (ERP) of the console last week"...
You will also never guess what Chris Lewis, (Vice President, Interactive Entertainment Business EMEA), said? Here is a quick quiz:
1) "We're very emotional that more consumers in Europe are joining the ever-growing Xbox 360 community."
2) "We're very anorexic that more consumers in Europe are joining the ever-growing Xbox 360 community."
3) "We’re very excited that more consumers in Europe are joining the ever-growing Xbox 360 community."
Yup, that's right. It was option 3 - adding to the 2008 Corporate 'Very Excited' League Table.
The company is also predicting future events, telling the world that, "The price drop has set the stage for a record breaking holiday season..."
Phew, eh readers? We await Sony and Nintendo's responses before the night is over.
