The launch price for the
PSP 3000 in Japan is to be ¥19,800 (£102 or €125.50) - this is the same RRP as the current model. Given its microphone and 'improved' screen (and despite what appears to be its more limited battery life), it's a little surprising that Sony has eeked out a few more Yen.
It is, however, also the same price as the newly price-slashed Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade pack in Nippon. Yesterday, Microsoft announced that it will be cutting prices on its consoles in Japan on September 11th.
The Arcade will fall from its current ¥27,800 (£143 or €176) to the same ¥19,800 price point as the PSP.
We just thought we'd mention it. Now what we need to know is the pricing for the
PSP 3001.
