According to comments from Sony Computer Entertainment Australia, the
160GB PS3, which was announced in Leipzig on Wednesday, will be "limited edition". It was also confirmed that our mates Down Under won't be getting the new model.
A spokesperson for Sony Australia said the new PS3 is a "limited-edition SKU across all PAL territories that we haven't been able to make available for Australian consumers."
SPOnG hates to be picky, but... oh, who are we kidding, we love to be picky. It's hardly "across all PAL territories" if it's not available in Australia, is it?
The rep also pointed out, "Any consumers who want more space, the option's still available to purchase a notebook drive and upgrade."
The new model is scheduled to arrive in Europe on October 31st at a price of £339.99.
