E3: Looking Into the Mirror's Edge

(Don't expect to see yourself)

Posted by Staff
Electronic Arts has dished up a new video and a handful of screens from its parkour game, Mirror's Edge, as part of its E3 offering. Because SPOnG likes the idea of leaping across rooftops in fancy footwear but doesn't too much fancy the idea of plummeting to our doom, we're rather pleased by the new footage. We thought you might be too, so you'll find it below.

In a nutshell, Mirror's Edge is a first-person game about free running with a dystopian future twist. If you want the version that doesn't fit into a nutshell, SPOnG suggests heading over to its dedicated game page for more.

To whoever thought it would be good idea to cut game footage from one scene into another - WRONG!

This video is dire - I thought the engine was glitchy, throwing the player from the water cascade onto an unseen roof, or that the the character was falling through walkways. It was about 2/3s through before I realised it was intentional.

The video I got off PSN is much better - a continuous run without any dodgy editing
