'Media and Events Space' for PlayStation Home Unveiled

Video footage right here

Sony has revealed its 'Media and Events Space' in the long, long, long awaited PlayStation Home and SPOnG has video footage to give you a taster.

The feature is, in a nutshell, a virtual convention or exhibition space. It was shown last week to 10,000 participants from the Home closed beta, with the area dressed up to re-create PlayStation Day at London's Millennium Dome (or whatever we are supposed to call it this week). Shown off were a photo gallery of games developers, screens displaying the day's speeches and streamed footage of what went on during the real PlayStation Day.

Sony says that following the success of the test run it will start to use the 'Space' for more elaborate events put on by both itself and third-parties.

“As well as looking great, the Media and Events Space is flexible and user-friendly - it’s a real focal point for our virtual community. This was a very exciting first event and we’ve already received plenty of great feedback”, says Home producer Martijn Van Der Meulen.

If anybody says "Doesn't Second Life already offer exactly this?" We will point out that, well, it's Second Life and as such not really worth breaking wind... sorry sweat, worrying about it.

The most important question is being overlooked here; If Home is to compete with Second Life, as Sony seem to be trying to position it, will it have flying penises?

i don't think that is trying to cempete with second life for one thing it will not allow anything sexual and i doubt that sony will allow it to be manipulated to the sick pedophile referances like second life managed to do.
but that aside home will be an amazing and worth the wait i just hope sony will bring it out before the end of the year reports say fall 09
