European news... not yet

Kristin Neirinckx, an Associate Product Manager, SCEA, has posted details of the return of Rumble to the PlayStation brand. Yes, the PS3 finally gets that 'last-gen' Rumble tech in the form of the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller - in the United States.

The $54.99 (£27) controllers, we are told, "are shipping to store shelves as we speak, so be on the lookout for them next week". Let's reiterate, that's North America. The company has also come up with a useful logo that will be stuck on all Dualshock-compatible games from now on.

The list of games that currently support the moving nature of the new controller are as follows. Those listed with asterisks require patching. Said patch will automatically download if you're online.

Why didn't they just bring out all the good stuff straight away and get it over with? Also, what am I meant to do with my previous controllers? I should be able to send them back and get them upgraded, I think (morally speaking, that is).

It's slightly hilarious how they got rid of rumble, saying it was out of fashion, then when they bring it back again, it's just like the old days with the N64, saying "look, now we've invented rumble," as if it's brand new.

When in reality, they should be trying to convince their fans to stay loyal to them, when it was Sony, not their fans, that made the mistakes in the first place. Still, it's another step forward (after a step back) ...

Still no date for the UK then? I know people who are STILL holding off buying PS3 until rumble returns. That simple manoeuvre from Sony will sell sooooo many more consoles. Yet instead, they sit, fingers up arses and in ears, causing all kinds of filthy infections I suspect.

It was lack of rumble that made me despise Phil Harrison so much.

"Rumble is a last gen feature!" he cried, stating that motion sensing is the big thing. Well, he was right in a way; motion sensing became massive... only not on his console. Idiot. Rumble is a key feature for every generation from now on. We, the gamers, don't like having key features removed. I want my cake, I want to eat it, and I'd like it to look like Heidi Klum's breasts and come with a free sports car. And I certainly don't want to be told what to think by someone that is obviously out of touch with games and gamers. His lies did him massive damage, and as a fellow member of the Brotherhood of Bald, I motioned to remove him from the movement in shame, and shortly after this he left Sony in disgrace. He is currently out of the public eye as his rejection from the BoB means he must grow back as much hair as possible before being allowed in public again. Not my rules, some guy called Luthor made that bit up.

In summary: UK GAMERS WANT OUR RUMBLE BACK.

They only said rumble was last gen and then put it back in because the real reason was the court case that was filed by Immersion.

Immersion and Sony settle and hey presto rumble is back!

Its a shame Sony can't make the PS3 controller a bit more solid and heavy duty with better analogue sticks, d-pad and those triggers need a serious upgrade imo.
