March 27th sees Rockstar releasing the final
GTAV IV trailer before the game's April 29th release. This coincides with the publication of the UK government-sponsored Byron Review into violence in video games (and the Internet).
The trailer is called "Good Lord, What Are You Doing?" AKA "Everyone's A Rat" raising expectations that plot teasers will crop up along with more insights into the geography and architecture of Liberty City; there's bound to be shooting of guns as well.
So, what a coincidence then? Byron and
GTA IV trailer on the same day? Frankly, SPOnG would suggest that this is a coincidence in the same way as someone saying "Hello" to someone in New York at the same time as two other people do so in York. Pure luck.
The United States market is the key target to be aimed at and shot down like a drunken zombie-witch by Rockstar and its parent company, Take-Two. This is why the USA is getting, "...a host of special music events including The Black N Blue Bowl of hard core in Brooklyn, Francois K's Deep Space 5th Anniversary, Bobby Konders' Birthday Bash, and DJ Premier's monthly "Like They Used to Say" party. All of these are in freakin' Noo Yoik Ciddy, ya mook. Details are available at
the official site.
Talking of which, that has also been updated with details about new in-game radio stations: K109 The Studio's Disco Never Dies (Hosted by DJ Karl) and also WKTT Talk Radio's 'We Know The Truth!' The Nation's Most Patriotic Talk Radio.
While the idea of the first one is frankly ugly, we're tuning into 'We Know the Truth' as often as possible, with lines like:
"Public education is another lie."
"Science is good when it teaches you to turn a million ungrateful foreigners into glass."
"Technology is a lie sent by liberals to kill us".
"Because the liberal media wants to give your country to an illegal immigrant."
Really, you can't argue with sentiments like that unless you really hate America, Coca-Cola, the freedom for your vice president to shoot his lawyer in the face with a shotgun while hunting, and the peace of mind that arrest without evidence under the Patriot Act brings.
God bless WKTT Talk Radio!
