Sony's PS Eye-based motion-tracking system that uses head movements as game controls, and which was recently shown at GDC, was merely a tech demo. This means it is unlikely to be coming to a shop near you soon.
A Sony representative told SPOnG this morning, "We have no details on the tracking software. As far as I'm aware it was developed by someone at SCEA and was shown at GDC as a technical demo of what is possible with the PS3 and PS Eye."
Potentially, the technology could be used to enable players to "look around" FPSs (for example) without using an analogue stick. For those gamers whose heads tend to unnecessarily twist about as they peer around game worlds, it could save a lot of thumb work.
For those who spend a great deal of time drunk or who own vibrating game chairs, however, Call of Duty 6:
Modern Funfair or
Resistance 3: Fallen Woman might be slightly more challenging.
No games have been confirmed to use the technology as yet.
