2K Games has released new content for
BioShock and it's free. Xbox 360 and PC owners can now get their mitts on new power ups and achievements.
So, first up we've got four new power-ups in the form of plasmids and gene tonics:
'Sonic Boom', which hurls enemies across the room.
'EVE saver', which enables plasmids to use less of the EVE that fuels them.
'Vending Expert', which brings down the prices in the vending machines, meaning your EVE and plasmids will set you back less.
'Machine Buster', which ups the amount of damage you can do to cameras, bots and turrets.
On the Achievements front, gamers can now pick up 100 points for 'Brass Balls', which requires players to complete
BioShock in the hard difficulty setting without dying.
Just for good measure, 2K's gone ahead and thrown in a widescreen option as well as some mysterious "additional enhancements". That's thanks to fan feedback, apparently, which is nice...
Owners of
BioShock on the 360 will get an automatic title update when they start up the game while logged on to Xbox Live. PC gamers can get the new content through a patch, which can be found
here.
The corporo quote du jour comes from 2K's president, Christoph Hartmann, who said, "As one of the highest rated games of the year, we wanted to continue to connect with the fans that made
BioShock such an overwhelming retail and critically-acclaimed hit. We are excited to offer new downloadable content that will extend and enhance the replay value of this title".
