A further firmware update is heading to a PS3 near you soon.
Details are scarce, but here's what a PlayStation Blog posting tells us:
"...here’s a quick heads up that we have a new System Software update in the works. Firmware v2.01 is a minor update that will improve the stability of PlayStation 3."
Some PS3 owners have been having minor problems with Remote Play, so it may be that the update will address that. It will also -
apparently address freezing issues with Ubisoft's much-vaunted (and criticised) Assassin's Creed.
At the time of press, however, Sony had no further details to offer.
The
last update, 2.0, launched on November 8th and enabled gamers to turn their PS3 on with their PSP, and to tart up the cross media bar (XMB).
The PlayStation Blog advises, "We’ll provide more specifics as the update is about to go live." SPOnG's also put in a call to Sony for more details, so keep your eyes peeled for more as it comes.
