Sony is preparing to make three major announcements at Leipzig later today relating to the PS3 digital TV tuner/recorder, a video download service for the PSP (
developed in partnership with Sky, as reported last month) and more details on the proposed video chat and instant messaging system for the PSP (
developed in partnership with with BT).
The Leipzig Games Convention opened its doors this morning with the event’s organisers expecting over 200,000 industry execs and gamers to attend the four-day event this week.
"This year we are expecting over 9,000 trade visitors and some 2,800 journalists from over 35 countries," said Josef Rahmen, managing director of the Leipziger Messe.
More concrete details on the three Sony announcements later today. Of course, what we really want to know is when the Dual Shock 3 controller will finally be releasing in Europe,
following the morning's news from Japan.
